The human body has always been a major source of curiosity and artistic inspiration. Join us, as we learn about ourselves and each other through studying the art of the human body. In this eight-week course, students will have the opportunity to develop their own artistic practice around the human body, whilst developing skills in drawing and partaking in fortnightly life drawing sessions. Classes will include technical instruction, anatomical study, life drawing, and art theory.

In this course we will:

  • learn to structure complex forms through simplified shapes
  • improve observational skills
  • create dynamic lively figure drawings
  • study human anatomy for art
  • learn about light and shadow, and how it creates form
  • explore beautiful, expressive mark-making
  • experiment with media
  • incorporate strategies for good composition
